Hi there,

I am trying to create a two tier password protection on a sheet with a range of cells whilst the remaining cells stay locked. For example I would like range J6:U196 password protected and editable by certain users of the spreadsheet and the same cells again but with an additional range of cells F6
:196 & J6:U196 unlocked with a password for another user. I would like a master password to unprotect the whole sheet finally for myself. I have been trying with unlocking the cells and protecting the sheet using “Allow Users to Edit Ranges” with these two levels added and password protected additional cells remain open even when locked and no password prompt appears enabling these cells to be edited. Outside of these ranges I would like everything locked and only editable when I unlock the whole sheet.

If I could use a macro to perform this it would be ideal. I have tried searching the forum and whilst there are many useful threads on vba password protection of sheets I can’t find much about the addition of multiple tier protection as such. If anybody could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks
