Subtracting Range of Cells depending on Another Cell's Value

I've searched through the forums a bit and found some questions that are SIMILAR to what I'm asking, but doesn't really help answer what I'm trying to do. I've attached my excel sheet for reference.

What I want is B6:B100 to be a NUMBER that subtracts from E3 or H3 DEPENDING on C6:C100 being either "VAC" or "CTO".

For instance, if B6 is 5, and C6 is VAC, then E3 will reduce by 5. If B6 is 5 and C6 is CTO, then H3 will reduce by 5. (I know I could probably just hide E3/H3 and have the value of H4/E4 depend on those and subtract as normal too)

I'm certain this is doable with a certain formula. Can someone walk me through it? I'd appreciate it.

That works only when I run the VBA code (it doesn't automatically update).

Do I have to use VBA code? Or is there a way that VBA code can automatically and real-time update when data is changed?
