Count Letters/Hyphenate?

I've got some 40-odd thousand cells in a single column (B) in Excel with data in them.... it's in the somewhat random looking format below.

FDV0002
PI7502/1
PSHH7502

What I need to do (in column C) is add 1- before them all, then, at the end of the letters add another dash..... so the examples above would end up:

1-FDV-0002
1-PI-7502/1
1-PSHH-7502

one of the forum gurus could probably do this with a formula, but I resorted to a macro
it should copy your new values into column c, begining at the first row

That is very nearly perfect, thanks. I've obviously got to hightlight the range required, but the sheet has a header row and the code is moving the first result from B2 up to cell C1, so every result is a cell too high........

just change y=1 to y=2 on the second row - this sets the row in column c to copy the first value to
