for loop through range of columns but skip every other column

Hi,

I wish to loop through some columns and do some calculations. I know how to do this but need to make the loop skip every other column as this is not needed.

A b c d e

1 t 7 l 4

What it does is sums column a&c = 7
Then c & e =11 so skips column b
