Substring a value to use for a search filter

Gidday all

I have the following exert from a filer string.
What I want to do is search part of the value, for instance if the ComboBox2 value = Fred, I want to filter my data so it returns all rows that have FRED in the value (ie Fred01,Fred02 (anything with FRED))
I thought of tring to use a SUBSTRING() but it didn't work
