Good evening,
I need help figuring out how to modify a formula in one cell based on the color of another cell if that makes sense? I'll explain. I have a spreadsheet with 6 digit numbers from B2:B50.. I then take another list of about 15 6 digit numbers and place it under B50.. These are all duplicates of the top numbers.. I use the conditional formatting to highlight all item #s that are duplicate in column B with the default light red background and dark red letters.. In columns D:G starting in row 2 I have single digit item #s that correspond to the item numbers in column B and in column I have formulas going from I2:I50.. the default formula is a simple =SUM(D2,F2) what I want to do is based on the color of the cells in column B (the duplicates) change the formula to =SUM(E2,G2) since I will technically be dragging down the formula and not wanting to edit each one by hand.. Is this possible? If it is too confusing I can upload a sample spreadsheet.. but don't know how? Thank you in advance!!
