    issue populating combox options from vba

    Why wouldn't this be working? i have a sheet called yer maw and one ComboBox1. i write the following code to "ThisWorkbook", save and close. Book opens without any errors, but my combobox contains nothing!! what am i doing wrong?

    Your syntax is wrong. Depending on the type of combobox it would be one of the two:

    hi, your activex example works when i place in the body of my main code in module9 and use another button to write to it, but for some reason it will not be written to if place the code within "thisworkbook" any further ideas?

    I got it to work, i tihnk it was probably always working! not sure if this is normal behavior or not, but it only works (including yours) if i close down excel completely.

    opening the .xlsm from a running instance of excel with NO workbooks open, i.e. File > Open etc, did not fire the open workbook event

    opening the .xlsm from a windows directory without any instance of excel running DID fire the open workbook event


    is this normal?

    gave up, .clear wasnt working either! so i went with the form-control version which works perfectly. Possibly some work IT security settings for Active x or something blocking it.
