Disabling option to open file as read only

Morning all,

I have just finished making a document and would ideally like to stop users opening it in read only mode.
When the file is already in use, the second user is prompted to open the file as read only. Is there a way to remove this option and instead tell the user that the file is already in use and then simply close the document down?
