'Learning' alternative to complex if function

Hello all,

I have wondered if anyone knows of an alternative to long and complex if functions. In my workbook, I have entries based on multiple criteria and the placed them into 8 different buckets. It is updated with new monthly data each month and I have to go in manually and categorize each new item. This is mostly done by eyeballing labels from items in past months, but would like to 'automate this process if possible.

I know it could be done through an if function, but it would have to be very complex and I am not confident that I could complete it without utterly confusing myself or taking a week to automate a process that only consumes an hour of time a week when performed manually.

I am hoping that my explanation of the problem is not too confusing.

Essentially, I am looking for some type of learning function/macro/add-on that can process available data and return the proper label.

thanks,

Generally, if you have a list of items to pick from, you would use a small table and a vlookup or index/match function.

To offer more direct advice, I would need to see a sample of what you are working with
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you

Thanks for the file. So, how would you determine what goes where - and why?
