default ActiveX controls do not give a warning. I recently added the WindowsMediaPlay to the Toolbox and placed on a form. (two xlsm files)
Initially it gave no warnings. Then only when I ran a macro. Now when I open the .xlsm it gives a warning immediately. "This application is about to initialize ActiveX that might be unsafe................."
Removing the Player object removes the warning. Esc removes warning, but no wheeze involving Sendkeys "{ESC}" works around this. AFAIK
This seems to be related to recent OS (etc) Updates. Win 7 Pro + all updates to present day.
Anyone else observed this ?
Can't find any settings or parameters that might solve the problem. (I only run my own code.)
Searching this Forum produces similar problems going back as far as 2003 and up to about 2013 - Micro$oft URLs on those threads now out of date. Their website seems to ignore Office 2007 and earlier. Had a problem a year ago related to running VBA after updates and was told to delete a speed up file that is generated afresh only if it doesn't exist but the update didn't deal with it. Methinks we are into the same territory.
Any ideas folks?
