Protected worksheet with macro but can't delete text or resize rows

I have a worksheet that I have protected cells that I do not want a user to be able to change. They can only change the cells that they need to. I also have a macro that will wrap text and automatically resize the cell. The problem is, if I need to delete the text and resize the row on one of those cells that I used the macro it won't let me it says that the worksheet is protected. I thought that if when you protect the sheet that if you check the box by format cells and format rows it would let you do this. Is it because of the macro. Maybe the macro is reprotecting it and not letting me makes those changes. Need help in trying to fix my problem. TIA!

Unprotect it at the start of the macro and protect it back at the end.
