Saving an xlsm as an xlsx

    Morning

I have a project that entails converting a file from an xlsm to and xlsx and saving it in a location. I wanted to add a button to the page so that the process can occur on click before it is saved as an xlsm for use in another department.

I would be grateful for any suggestions on how to do this.

    Thanks

I assume the copy will have no VBA and/or UserForms included?

    Hi BSB

I understand that the xlsx has the macro's disabled. We use the xlsm as a production costing documnet. To get the summary information into our Sage accounts package we first have to save it as an xlsx. We raise about 25 of these documents every day and it is killing us hence the step towards automation.

I have so far got this

It saves the file but, closes it and we still need it as an xlsm.

Ideally I'd like it to save and send a notification email to [email protected] too

    I dream, I know.

    Thanks for look though

    Regards

Re: Saving an xlsm as an xlsx

I can think of 2 possible solutions.
    Option 1:-
Whatever the VBA (macros) are doing can they replaced with formulas?
If so, it could be saved as an XLSX.
    Option 2:-
Record a macro that copies the entire sheet and use "past special - values only" and saves as an XLSX.
A copy of your file would be handy to experiment with.
