Transfer xlsx workbook to xlsm workbook, maintain macros, pics, cell data, formulas, etc

Here is the scoop, I need to take a large excel xlsx workbook and transfer it to a pre formatted xlsm workbook. If macros conflict then the xlsm needs to rule, same for formulas. The pics need to scale down to the new sized cell. Is there a relatively easy way to do this? Right now we are going cell by cell, pic by pic and transferring all the data. We have hundreds of workbooks so this is going to take a very long time.....any ideas?

To be honest, even if we cannot achieve all of that I would like to take the data from the standard cells and move them into the new workbook but the cells are different sizes....they won't mesh....easiest way to do that and keep the formatting of the destination cells?

I would love to do that but unfortunately our companies policy doesn't allow me to do that so we have to fly in the blind on this one....1 step at a time perhaps

Anything I could try would be great. A simple method that would make it much quicker would be to transfer a group of cells (column) from 1 workbook to the other, since the column headers and contents are the same, the only issue is that they have merged rows in each workbook and each workbook has a different number of merged rows....not sure how to write a formula that ignores that and makes sure that the formatting in the new spreadsheet is maintained....ideas?

That's not a bad idea, let me see if I am allowed to do that.
