Help request to change serial number for new date

Hi friends,

I have a serial number in column ‘A’
I have a date in column ‘C’

I have a macro ‘SerialNumber’ in which I want to add a code which will change the serial number after changing the date in column ‘C’. In short I want to start a serial number 1 for each new date. I have shown the required serial number in column ‘B’.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

No, it's working as per requirement. It's giving error so I changed it as follows but it's counting the number of dates instead of serial number. There are 6 entries of 29/04/2016; output 6 which is worong.

I want a formula in column 'A'. I have shown the required output in column 'B'. There is a another data in column 'B' in my original workbook.

The formula in #2 will give the exact answers you showed in your file in column B.

So what is the problem?
