    Index Similar function for returning a value

    Dear All,

    As we everyone is familiar with Index, Match & Match function which would retrieve the value based on Row value & Column Value.

    Similar way, I want to have a User Defined function that would return the value to a cell based on Row & Column values

    i.e., Index, Match & Match function will retrieve the value whereas my userdefined function should return a value to a cell based on Row & Column values through a UserForm

    UserForm should have 1. Array - Text Box for selecting the array 2. Row - Combo list that must have Unique values based on Row Selected in a sheet 3. Column - Combo list that must have unique values based on Column selected in a sheet 4. Quantity - Text Box that is to enter the quantity which will return a value to a cell based on the above selections 5. 2 Buttons Submit & Clear for returning a valueto a cell & for clearing the above selections respectively.

    This UF should not be active always, I somehow should call it.


    I've furnished all the details in the attached report and do the needful.

    Hi, I do not quite grasp what you're trying to achieve, well, your explanation is not all that clear, maybe bacause of the sample array and column you show:

    1. Why the array, that is clear, you want it to be in that tbale
    2. Row? why C 1 through J2? Should that not be C2 to J2 ?
    3. Column: why the row numbers, columns A or B not enough?

    So you want a user form that you select a row and a column in that array and enter a value then press Submit and replace that value in the sheet and the clear the userform?

    What version of excel are you using?

    Hi,

    I'm using 2007 version right now

    I've so many reports in this way.

    ex:

    1. one report will have list of Destinations in the first row & 3 more columns mentioned as "To be Dispatched", "Dispatched" & "Balance" under every destination where as first column will have models

    2. Another report will have dates list in the row 1, under every date we will have production, plan, dispatch plan, dispatched etc in row 2 where as we will have Models in the first Column

    3. Another report will have dates list in the first row under which there are 2 rows for Utilization of raw material & Inward of Raw Material, where as first Column will have raw materials list

    These many reports, concern is to return value in a cell based on these Row & column headers. So If I have a UserForm that can be used every where that sounds good to me.

    Array - This is where I return value, Row - It must generate list in Dropdown list or Combo or any other list that can simplify my task based on my selection. column - - It must generate list in Dropdown list or Combo or any other list that can simplify my task based on my selection.

    I think you understood my concern and do the needfuil. So request you to please help me regarding this.

    i dont get it, and not only me,

    so better give a file with a before and a after sheet with disired result
