Data entry saving to another page in alphabetical order.

    Hello,
I am attempting to create a programme that allows me to enter customer information on a main page and like name, address and contact details. When completed I would like a macro to transfer it over to another worksheet. As the list grows I was trying to place it in alphabetical order based on surname.

I was trying to upload a page but cant seem to get it to save.

    SURNAME FORENAME ADDRESS EMAIL TELEPHONE

Its basically as above only there are four lines in the address box.

    Thank you in advance.

    Colin.

However you capture the data, when it's transferred to the database page the details should be placed in separate columns on a single line. Then its a simple task to sort the database on the surname column. In fact I generally do this as part and parcel of the macro that transfers the new record to the database.

If you want to make any serious use of your data you should in no circumstances transfer cells in a single column range to a single column range on a databsse sheet

Ok The attached file will get you started.

I set it up so you can add 8 New addresses at a time, easily modified.

    I used three macros:-

I rather got the impression from Hezcal's original where they said that there are 4 lines in the address box that a set of data was entered in rows, i.e. say in A1:A8. Maybe s/he will comment.

    Sorry for delay.
Yes there are for lines in the address box. So I was hoping to transfer the whole thing over as a block.
