Tracking data process with email connectivity

I don't even know if this is possible as I'm not an excel whizz so I'll apologize in advance.

I'm looking for a spreadsheet that will track people through a process, ideally using a button to pick them and their details up from one sheet, and drop them to another (needs to be a button so I can move backwards if needs be)

I'd also like to be able to add a button or something that when a certain action is taken, I can press a button to send a template email to a selected person or people (max of 3)

Anyone want to help me tackle this one or can provide any guidance at all?

Not to difficult to assign code to buttons in a workbook, sending an e-mail is more complex depending on whether you want to use a client (ms outlook) or clientless (SMTP via CDO) approach, do you have an idea of how you want this to look?

Vaguely yes. And it would be MS outlook. Is this possible? I can't send rough data to play with if it is

In the e-mail are you looking to send general information (e.g. action required, click this link), or are you looking to include detailed info from the workbook/worksheets like including a range of cells, or attaching a workbook? All of this is possible, just different levels of complexity in the coding.

The following link is a very good resource that shows how to automate e-mail from excel to outlook.
