Importing Data list from Excel into another Excel Template?

Hello!

I have made a template of sorts in excel to help organize files for the office. The top of the template spreadsheet has a place for a Name, Employee ID, address, company, Job Title, and Date of Hire. The second half of the template is where I will put elections that employee has made.

In order to save time, I have pulled a report that will show all the first information in list form. Column A is Name, Column B is Employee ID, etc)

Is there a way that I pull all the data from the second list into the template automatically, instead of me copying and pasting the info?

Please let me know if I have given enough information to help understand.

I unhid your "Formula data" worksheet to take a look. Anyways, I created a "modified" which is my version of your "sheet1". If you look, all the cells in my 'modified' just reference cells in your 'Template'. This is the simplest way to do what I understand you're asking for.

Thank you for your quick response! But I would like it to go the opposite direction. I would like for the info in Sheet 1 to show up in my template. Does that make sense?

What you could do is one of two things....

1) In Template!B1, put the formula '=Sheet1!A2'. This will get the name from Sheet 1, cell A2 into the Name spot on the first form.
2) Create a Word template of your Template worksheet. Then use a document mail merge to get the data from Excel in to the Word template. This should give you an idea of how (https://support.office.com/en-us/art...b-0a948fa3d7d3).

Long term, I think #2 would be the way to go. You wouldn't have to use hardly any formulas or coding.
