Data file contains more than 3 million lines

Hi Guys,

I really need your help regarding this matter.

I have a client which gave me an Extracted file (CSV format) from their system using SQL. The problem is, the file contains 3 Million lines and the excel can only accommodate 1,048,576 lines, therefore, when I opened it, an alert appear indicating that the file were not complete uploaded.

My remediation plan is to save it using NOTEPAD then cut it per 1 MILLION lines then put it in the excel sheet manually.

I was wondering if we can do it using a code in MACRO where it will run a code to CUT 1 to 1 million lines and paste it to Sheet1 cell A then run all over again until it completely finish with the file.

Why can not you download it in to powerpivot? Power pivot can hold millions of lines. You can then import it in to excel.

Using a loop to cut 1 million lines in excel will take you ages to compelte.
