    Userform to search database using wildcard entry in a listbox

    In the attached workbook I have started creating a userform to search the data in Sheet EWC code and return all possible entries in a display. The format of the display would be the same as columns C F G H in Sheet1

    The product description would be entered as text (this will be the search word that will be used to locate the descriptions where it is mentioned)
    The collection facility is chosen from a list (this will influence the returned entries as from the section of the database it will display)
    The destination facility is chosen from a list (this will influence the returned entries as from the section of the database it will display)
    I have not though of the process yet to determine the influence these will have

    I am new to userforms and usually would have approached this using index match but want to start using userforms more.

    Any pointers in displaying waste code entries in the database from the entry in a text box would be most appreciated

    Have a play with this userform and then come back with clear requirements

    Click on the search button on the summary sheet

    Select Manufacturing times

    Type ABB into Search Phrase 1

    Type pow into Search Phrase 2

    Hi mehmetcik
    I have had a look and revised the userform. The basic function would be for the database EWC codes to return instances where the typed entry in "Product Desctription" appear in the 3 column list box
    the "source" and "destination" drop down lists will be used to narrow the search find by disqualifying entries that did not emanate from a source

    thirdly the check EWC code text box will just return a value of a searched code in the format "19 12 07"

    I realise that I will have to work on the format of the actual database to trigger these disqualifying events but if the search word "wood" were used as an example with no filters from the dropdown lists then you will see the number of different categories this will pull data from I have filtered the database with the resulting entries that would need to be displayed

    The filters wood discount items such an instance would be if came from manufacturer or sawmill both would discount "wood preservatives" and "wood containg hazardous substances" as we do not carry any hazardous substances. (in fact all codes with an asterix can be ignored)
