    highlighting changes by comparing two workbook each worksheets

    Hi,

    I have two workbook having same worksheet name and data all over it.I have made changes in some cell/cells in one or more worksheets and changed the workbook name.Now I want to highlight the changes in each workbook sheets whose data is changed.i.e change in Original as well as New.

    you could use conditional formatting

    select the range of the new book and then

    =workbook_old!A1<>workbook_new!A1

    otherwise - perhaps you could upload a sample set of workbooks

    I have enclosed the two workbook 'Before Change' & 'After Change'.In after change I have highlighted wherever changes I made manually.All these I want automatically.

    you cannot use conditional formatting to external workbooks
    so you will need to use VBA or a userdefined function - not my expertise

    Hi paradise2sr,
    try to use the command 'Compare files' from add-in 'INQUIRE' (included in Excel 2013). It does exactly what you need

    ok I have used "INQUIRE" function but one things is left to highlight is that I have added data in E column in "After Change" workbook which fails to highlight why this is so ? And the rest are momentarily fine.

    After receiving the report, you can adjust the options: 'Options' button on the ribbon - in the window that appears, check the 'Process cell contents in inserted rows/columns'
