Trying to search data through Google and return specific results, but unable to run it

    Hello everyone,

A bit of an odd/tough one here. I have a list of around 1000 names in an excel spreadsheet, with their addresses and DOB etc.

I am looking for a macro, which would search these names and their town name via Google and return any matches featuring key words i.e. police, theft, crime, court, offence, trial etc.

Is this something that could be done?

    Many thanks,

    Chris

Re: Trying to search data through Google and return specific results, but unable to run it

I had answered similar thread in the past. I think the name and post code of a restaurant were given, I had to scrape the address, telephone, website and so on. I would not promise anything, but I will have a go if you could post a few samples of addresses and what data you want to scrape for each address. The code is most likely going to slow- HTTP request does not work well on Google's advertised section, so it is going to IE.

    Hello,

I have attached some sample data, which shows how the staff lists would be displayed, but over 100 records.

I want to be able to run their names through Google, along with their town and then various words such as 'courts' 'police' 'theft' 'offence' 'assault' 'burglary' 'robbery' 'trial' etc which could subsequently return detrimental information about them.

I dont know if this can be done though!

    Cheers,

    Chris

    No or highly unlikely
    For instance, if i type

I get millions of names. Unless you want to search through a particular site or sites, it is difficult to identify the search item.
