Question If a cell is populated, then the next cell has to be populated too

    Hi everyone,

I am not sure where to post this because I feel like it may be possible to do both formula or vba.

I looked around and found a similar solution that uses data validation and a formula (=AND(A2<>0,A2<>"")) that the user has to populate first before entering the next cell.

What I am trying to figure out is how to allow the user to input in a cell but force to fill out the cell in the next row. Once it is filled out, the user is allowed to input in other cells.

    For example:
The user is allowed to input something in A1 but once A1 is filled with a value, the user needs to fill out A2 before the user can make any other changes to other cells.

    Thank you!

You will need VBA to do this.

    Hi JohnTopley,

Thank you for your code. This is exactly what I was looking for. If you don't mind if I take this a step forward and ask: Is it possible to prevent the user from closing the excel sheet if one cell is populated, while the other cell is not?

Also, is it possible to apply this vba code to certain worksheet within that workbook without copy and pasting the same code?

    Thank you!
