Comparing strings value

Hi everyone,

I am having a pb when I want to compare a cell value that contains a text with a string variable. I do not get any error message but the macro is not working properly.

The aim of the following macro is to count the number items according to diverse criteria:

I could "follow" my code with F8 button and could see that when Cells(i, 8).Value = itemtype is true, VBA does not consider it as true and goes directly to Endif.
