Dear All,

I do not see any pattern in the addresses that can help you. So i suspect that what you want is impossible. However, maybe there is a pattern, but since you have not shown us what your EXPECTED ANSWER is, we cannot tell. Excel can partse addresses, IF there is a pattern defining where the two halves of the address are. So. Is there a pattern? What are your expected results?

Dear Glenn Kennedy
i have attached file for your reference with expected result in column E and F...
Adeel
There is no rationale in what you are showing that could be translated into the logic necessary for Excel to do this for you. It's going to have to be a manual job, I fear.

Dear AliGW
is this possible that two formulas in E and F..??
Adeel
Agreed. There's no pattern that can be exploited. Sorry!!
Adeel, in response to post 5. No. There is no pattern that determines where the split between address 1 and address 2 should be (full stop, dash, number of words, etc) that could then be used to split the string.
thanks both of you for guidance
Adeel
If that takes care of your original question, please select Thread Tools from the menu link above and mark this thread as SOLVED. Thanks.
dear both
can we insert the dashes or full stop after certain figure, like if i count the cell data with =len() and divide with 2 ,with resulted cells, such VBA or formula insert dashes or full stops accordingly, pl guide on this..
Adeel
Yes, you can do that with a formula, but why? You would end up with bits of addresses all over the place!
dear AliGW
after inserting dashes or full stop than i will use the text to column method which fulfill the need(which split the data in 2 columns)
Adeel
Yes, that will work. Maybe use the | (pipe) symbol as the delimiter.
But, to be honest, by the time you've gone through and added your delimiter, you might just as well have cut and pasted what you want into the separate columns.

In E2, copied down:
=LEFT(D2,LEN(D2)/2)
In F2, copied down:
=RIGHT(D2,LEN(D2)/2)
dear AliGW
lot of thanks, this is as i want...great effort
Adeel
You're welcome!
