How to get non-conditional formatting to move during sort...

    G'day, all,

I used the macro recorder to create a couple of simple sort routines. Columns A and B contain differing numbers and so, the macros will sort rows 5 to 45 based on those numbers. That works fine.

What I found was that conditional formatting (the kind that is dependent on what it reads in various cells) moves during the sort but other, manual formatting or styles regarding colour or borders does not move. So for example, if row 40 had a cell that contained a manual strike-through or colour or border applied, it would stay at that location when I did the sort when I actually wanted it to follow the value in A or B when it moved.

Is it possible to do that?

    Cheers,

    AJ
Always grateful for the help here - thanks.

The only way I can think of to do that is to write your own sort algorithm in VBA that moves formatting when it moves values. It's possible but seems a shame to do it when sorting is already a built-in feature. Is there any way you can use conditional formatting for the formatting you want?
