Viewing problem with the Code window

I have a small (and perhaps silly) problem with the display window when working on code.
I better explain it in the attached Word page.
    Thanks for any help.

Re: Viewing problem with the Code window

Probably a web search on "restoring excel VBE to default" may help

Re: Viewing problem with the Code window

    Hi aca,

In your IDE (VB Editor) click on Tools -> Options and then on the "Docking" tab in this dialog. You've unchecked your dialogs so they can be minimized, etc. Check all the possible dialogs and then drag them back (and dock) them to where you had them before.

I agree that there is very little help on the net with working in the VBA IDE.

    Look at:

Re: Viewing problem with the Code window

Thank you, davesexcel; I did find some helpful things with the search you suggest.
Thank you, MarvinP. I follow the steps you mention and moved ahead... some; but see the result in the new file attached.

Re: Viewing problem with the Code window

    Hi aca,

In trying to discover and produce your problem, I messed up my own ide boxes. I've added a link in my previous post that explains exactly how to fix our problem. Read the link from jkp above and it has made my problem better.

AND - a better answer is to edit the windows registry following the instructions at:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...itial-settings

I followed them down to my VBA version of 7.1 and deleted "Dock" on the right window and it fixed my problem. YEAH!!

Re: Viewing problem with the Code window

Thanks a world, MarvinP, for your efforts on my behalf; and I regret that it led to some trouble for yourself. As for your latest suggestions, this:
-The first one, about your link from yesterday: I studied it, yes, but it was no help to me bcs it starts with my problem already solved. I mean: His Fig 1, all right, mine is exactly the same. But his Fig 2 shows the Project and Properties frames in the right place and already locked (without their icons for Full window and for Minimizing). And that's precisely what I never get: I arrange those two frames exactly like him; but as soon as I check them in Tools->Options->Docking, they dock all right, but they've changed their size to full width, and any Code frame after that remains floating, as in the fig. I attached yesterday.
-The link to the Register: That I don't dare to attempt, bcs I'm not knowledgeable enough and I fear I'll cause greater damage elsewhere.
So, I'll have to live with my poor state of affairs.

Thanks again for following my query to this point.
