Conditional Formatting: Global Find & Replace

    Hi,

I have the same data validation formula set for the range B:B on a couple of hundred worksheets. I need it replaced throughout the workbook by another formula. Is there a way to do it quickly with a macro or something? Changing the thing by hand will take half a day at least...

    Thanks in advance.

Re: Data Validation: Global Find & Replace

This certainly can't be done using find and replace - the CF set-up needs a major overhaul by Microsoft - but may be possible with VBA (not sure). I'll move your thread to that section.

Be a little more specific and I'm sure someone can help. What is the formula and what do you want to replace it with?

Re: Conditional Formatting: Global Find & Replace

Unfortunately, my question has been misunderstood by the moderator who edited it.

It is not about conditional formatting. What I have is a data validation formula (ribbon: Data > Data Validation > Settings) set for the range B:B on multiple worksheets to prevent identical entries. Now, it happens to be case-insensitive and I need to do a global search throughout the workbook and replace it with a case-sensitive alternative. Can this be done automatically?

A good way to start is using your recorder do one sheet. Then present it too the Forum. Preparing a code to change/reset each sheet should not be a problem.
