Macro Failure to Launch Excel vs IE

I have been running several macros regularly, some on a daily, weekly, monthly basis depending on the macro. They were all written by other people, some are several years old. They all worked fine until this week. My software is all up to date and there have been no changes to our corporate systems that I am aware of.

I am using Excel 2010 and MS IE version 11.0.9600
when attempting to launch the macro the user must already be signed into the corporate website that holds the data that will be pulled, it is normally a seamless process. Now, as soon I click GO to run the macro I get this error message:

it will launch a copy of the web site that I am using but nothing else, just the error

If I click on debug this is the section with the error. I can do very basic macros and I do not code at all so this is beyond me. Does anyone have any ideas? This is with every macro that i have been using regularly for the past few years. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Macro Failure to Launch Excel vs IE

okay, got some local help that knew the answer....

it was not an Excel issue, it was an IE issue. There was an update at some point that checked one box and sent me to macro he**.

if you ever run into this yourself the answer is to open up IE, got to the Tools menu, then Internet Options, click on the security tab

then for each internet option, Internet and Intranet make sure that the "Enable Protected Mode" box is UNchecked. If you have to change this setting you will need to close the dialogue box then close and restart IE. I hope this helps someone.
