Excel shows blank window after loading my XLL

Hi everybody,

Recently I had my Excel updated to Professional Plus 2016. I noticed that the Start screen did not show up after loading my XLL.

Test plan:
1. turn off all Excel addin-ins;
2. run Excel;

3. turn on my XLL only;
4. run Excel again;
StartScreen02.png

This issue happens only with the latest Excel Professional Plus 2016. Does anyone know the reason?

PS: After adding third-party add-in, Start screen would come back.

As reported in a Microsoft Technet thread, several users stated that Microsoft's Repair Option worked for them.

Thanks for your info.

Unfortunately Repair option does not work here.
The problem is that Start screen does not show up when my XLL is the only add-in.

However, if you allow, I will try to point you in another direction.

Here is what I found pertaining to XLL issues.

For test purose I downloaded/tested third-party XLL from Excel-DNA:
https://github.com/Excel-DNA/ExcelDn...r/Distribution

The issue also happened with test XLL( ExcelDna.xll )
1. start Excel;
2. go to Options->Add-ins->Excel Add-ins, and click Go button;
3. turn on only ExcelDna.xll;
4. restart Excel;
Result: Start screen does not show up;

5. also turn on XLLs of others;
6. restart Excel;
Result: Start screen does show up;
