Hello,
I have upgraded excel from 7 to 16 version. But my custom ribbon add-in created for excel 7 has disappeared now. Can you please suggest how to bring back that.
I have placed the xlam file in proper location.
Thank you!

Hi
Did you install it through the add-in dialog?
Don
Please remember to mark your thread 'Solved' when appropriate.
Hello,
Yes I went to excel options-add -in - then checked the xlam file but not appearing on ribbon.
Thanks!
Have you restarted Excel? If so, I suggest you check the option to display add-in user interface errors and then reload the add-in.
Hello,
Can you provide the steps to work on it.
Thanks!
Just as I described. In Excel Options, Advanced section, check the option to display add-in user interface errors. Then restart Excel.
everything is enabled. I don't see that option in advanced options.
File- Options- Advanced, scroll down to the bottom and it is in the General section below 'Ask to update automatic links'.
One other option to check where I have had an Addin Enabled/checked but did not show is that the Addin somehow becomes disabled.
In Excel. Go to File | Options. Chose Addins on Left and then go to Disabled and see if shows up there.
I did all. Still not able to see.
Thanks!
One more think to check is your RibbonX customUI. Did you create it and was it developed for Office 2007? Perhaps you need to update the beginning of your RibbonX? Does it show this?
Can you share the Addin to see if will load for one of us?Please Login or Register to view this content.
and perhaps give the File Path where you placed the addin?
And you did check your disabled items correctly here?

Yes I have developed it for office 2007 and now upgraded to 2016.
Which code I need to update for this?
and how?
Thanks!
I think we've exhausted help options perhaps without seeing a sample.
Hard to tell you which code needs to be updated as we dont' know how you created your custom ribbon menu items.
Can you post the the addin file?
Hello,
I am not able to attach any files.
Thanks!
The 2007 ribbonx namespace should work in 2016. It's when you try using newer namespaces in older apps that you don't see it.
Do you create a new tab or add groups to existing ones. If so it's possible the idMso has changed.
Enabling the addins error interface, as suggested by xlnitwit, will provide information if this is the case.
