Highlight cells based on drop down selection

In my sheet (see attachment), how would I set the drop down in status to highlight everything to the left? Please explain it to me so I can understand what was done as I may learn from your help.

What I want to accomplish is when I select "done" for instance, the cells to the left of status are highlighted = Theme Color 7th from the left, its a gray.

Figured it out with help menu after 3 days.

Conditional Formatting, copy and past the cells...

    =$H2="DONE"
