Why does my UDF returns empty ?

I just tested a very basic UDF:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Function DatabaseColumnSearcher(StartColumn As Single)

DatabaseColumnSearcher = StartColumn*2

End Function
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And when i call it like this in my code

StartColumn = DatabaseColumnSearcher(16)

I know its an useless function, the real one its more complex, i still dont undertand what im doing wrong

I tested it in a new book and i do get the value correctly, i dont get why i get empty

This gives me 32.

Ok sorry guys it seemed to be that i got the UDF inside a UserForm and i did not declared public, srry for the confution
