Vlookup Help

All,

I need some help, What I'm trying to do is use the cell value in (M1) in one workbook to look up the same value (column "B") in another workbook and then put the word "Yes" in the (Column "G") on the same row that the value was found.

Assuming both workbook files are open, try this in Workbook2, cell G1:

=IF('[Workbook1.xlsx]Sheet1'!M1="value to lookup","YES";"")

Adjust file and sheet names to fit.

Then copy down.

thanks for the reply. I might not made it understandable what i was trying to do so i enclosed the files I'm working with to make this happen.

I would like to use this in a macro. the code that i have so far works it just doesn't look up the job number in the Job ListBTD workbook and locate the (G) cell associated with the job number
