Selecting certain random cells from a range

Hello all,

Is there a way to be able to randomly select half of a range and then delete that data. e.g. if the max range is 100, could it be possible to select 50 random cells and then delete them cells.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you asking to randomly clear half the cells within the used range?

Sorry, I'm such an idiot. If there was a list of numbers that goes from A1:A100, I want a script to be able to select 50 random cells and delete them. Realistically, I want it to clear 50% of the maximum number of numbers. So if there's 5000 numbers, I'd want it to select and delete 2500 random cells. I'm not the greatest at creating macros.
