    GetData to password protected site

I'm trying to configure a query to get data from an HTML password protected site. Very frustrated! Does anyone have experience in this, or a sample of the code?

You'll probably need to use VBA

Re: GetData to password protected site

    • Do you know the password (dont share it with us!)?
    • How are you currently trying to query the site (presumably via Excel)?
    • Do you have access to the site, does it have a mechanism to export to Excel?
Ways to get help: Post clear questions, explain your overall goal, supply as much background as possible, respond to questions asked of you by those trying to help and post sample(s) files.

    User name and password, yes.
    Query via Excel 365
Export to Excel, yes (although they don't recommend it):
    ""Import Web Data" aproach
Unfortunately, due to the web browser embedded in Excel, this approach does not work on all machines. For that reason, we recommend using the copy-and-paste approach, shown above."
This is from the programs help site:

    Thank you,

Re: GetData to password protected site

Ok so provided the link you provided (Import Web Data Approach), have you followed their recommendations. If its not working, describe how it isnt working. Do you get an error, unexpected results, no results, crash, etc?

Is the version of Excel you use correct in your profile, being 2010?
