Hi there, can anyone help me out?
In a data table (column A-F) I want :
1. determine what is the most recent year/quarter per customer and
2. copy the related value (column E) and paste it in the cell related to this year/quarter combi(L-AA)
I have attached a file in which it will be clear what I mean.
Help is much appreciated!

Why do you have all Year & Quarter in result layout, when you want just single value for each customer?
At any rate, you could do something like below to get Max of year & quarter combo.
Formula:

Formula confirmed as array (CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER).
This will return 20181 for customer 13001.
Then it's matter of using that value to look up (in your case, you can use sumifs).
Assuming above formula is in L3.

Hi CK76, Thanks very much. It works fine!! The lay-out was chosen for visibility reasons. But with your formulas I can go on now!
