ID numbers without manual typing

Hello all ,

I have a worksheet that has currently 450,000 rows of data .

To this point i have manually put in an ID number from 1 to approx 450,000 . This takes a lot of time .

Im hoping to get simple macro that can start in Col A , Cell A2 and produce numbered 1 to last row . 1 2 3 etc .

Enter 1 in Cell A2, then,
Place this Formula in Cell A3 and drag it down to last row.

You need to study about Excel Autofill and how you can double click to get to the bottom.
or
How about using a formula like "=Row()" in A1 and then double click the bottom right handle to fill in all of them. THEN Copy that column and Paste over itself using Values Only.

If you want a better answer...

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and then scroll down to Manage Attachments to open the upload window.
