Ever since Excel 2007, I've been able to copy content into the first cell of a blank table, and ALL of the content became part of the table. Now in 2016, this no longer happens. When you copy content into the first cell of a table, only the first row of the content is included in the table. The rest of the content is copied UNDER the table and is not part of the table.
This new "feature" has broken a lot of legacy code. I found a "work around" (it's a quality product when you have to work around the way it is designed to function) : you have to "seed" a value in the blank table, then you can copy content into the table and it will be accepted.
A coworker of mine is having the same issue also since "upgrading" to Excel 2016. Are any others seeing this behavior? Is there a more sophisticated "work around?" or do we wait until 2019 for a fix?
Run the test macro. For 2013 and below, do you get a full table on the current sheet? For 2016 do you get a full table or a table with just one row and the rest of the content underneath? Now uncomment the line in red and run it again.
