    Anyone Experienced with Excel/Autocad Linking?

I'm trying to grab block attribute information from AutoCAD and load it into Excel, OR take information from Excel and update AutoCAD Block Attributes. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Tks.

I don't know if I can help, it's been 10 yrs; but try:
Have you created your template & output text (.txt) files?
Each line of the template.txt has the format:

    tag[space]type[space]field length[space]decimal places
    type is C - character, N - numeric
    field length - three digits

NO BLANK LINES AT END OF FILE
    Save the template text file
Save a BLANK output text file.

In AutoCad, ATText command and save as CDF
Open the output file with Excel

Hello. Thanks for the reply. I'm familiar wih using the ATTIN/OUT functions in AutoCAD and saving things to .txt then making changes, but not familiar with the rest of what you're referring to. Let me try to educate myself and see how far I get with it. Thanks for the help.
