    Using Index Match formula - Working but I want to link the lookup array to a cell.

    Hi Tech gurus!

    I am using a spreadsheet in which I want the index match formula to read values in one summary from other sheets that are progressively added to the workbook. I need the summary sheet to compare three variables in the summary sheet and search for these variables in the added work sheets and extrapolate the relevant data.

    The formulas I am using are:

    {=IFERROR(INDEX(INDIRECT("'"&I$3&"'!"&"D28:CL28"),1,MATCH(1,($A$5='1-07-2018'!$D$4:$CL$4)*($D5='1-07-2018'!$D$8:$CL$8),0)+2),0)}

    The section: '1-07-2018' is what I want to link to a cell instead of using the comment. Am I able to do this?

    Would a macro code be easier to use in this situation?

    cheers experts!

    Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment. So, to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: Just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.
