Help needed with linking data in excel

Hi guys, I am very new to excel and am hoping someone can help me set a project up. I need a way to manage my url links within online courses. Here is what I am thinking:
-every course would have a workbook with sheets of data for every lesson (url, owner, copyright info, etc)
-there would be a master workbook that would pull from every course’s workbook to enable for searching and tracking of urls in every course

I think macros may be my answer from searching but I have never created one before.

Can someone help guide me through this?
