    Is this overkill?

    Is using .Clean(Trim(StmtStartDate)) in every instance too much? Does it affect performance appreciably?

    If the variable has already gone through a .Clean(Trim( barrage, there's no need to do it again within the code. It probably doesn't add much overhead to that small bit of code and a small/medium data set, but it's not necessary.

    Also, be sure to put your code between CODE tags in the future. You can type CODE and /CODE enclosed in brackets (the first before your code, and the latter after it), or you can press the # button in the text-editor toolbar to insert the tags.
