Substitute function problem- Numeric as Text-Need to have those as Number

Dear Good People,

I was using Substitute function to replace dot(.) as Comma(,) in a numeric number due to my Excel european Version where i can not use MAX function with dot(.) in numeric value. But after using replace or Substitute function the resultant value Shows as Text which also not giving result for MAX function.

It will be great if any solution anyone can provide. Thanks in advance.

either add *1 after the substitute function or wrap the whole substitute function in a value function.

Lets say A1=0.3
if i use B2 = (=SUBSTITUTE(A1;".";",")

Then i get B2 = 0,3 But in Text Format
Then if i use C2= MAX(B:B) i get
C2=0

But i was supposed to get 0,3 . How should i get the right value
