Public vs Privtate vs Nothing

I know the difference between a Public function vs a Private function. What I don't know is the difference between, for instance,

. Is there any value added by putting Public at the front?

By default, i.e. if you don't specify Private/Public, functions are Public.

So there's really no value in adding Public. Why is it even an option?
