Question Populate table using row and column headings to index cells

I'm pretty new to Excel as far as going this in depth, but I was wondering if anyone had input as to whether a concept I have is possible...

I have a "Data Table" that has customers going down and product numbers going across. I made a cover page that allows a user to select a costumer and a product number and display whatever information is in the grid on the "Data Table". I did this using Index and Match functions.

Right now, there is no data inside this "Data Table". I was hoping that there is someway to "reverese" my Index and Match functions to allow me to enter data into this grid instead of retrieve it.

I am posting in the VBA thread because I explored using a form powered through VBA but the coding to put the data where I needed seemed too intense for me.

Just for a reference, my "Data Table" is about 2,000 lines across and 3,000 lines down, so any way to make entering this data easier is invited!!!

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

Where would you enter the data and the customer/product details?
If posting code please use code tags, see here.

Not sure if this answers your question, but my ideal final product would be a sheet where I could select a costumer with a drop down menu, select a product number with a dropdown number, and then write some notes that can be entered into the table I made automatically. Does that help?

Any chance you could upload a sample workbook?
