Can't find project or library

I have a spreadsheet with a lot of code which has worked fine for a few weeks. All of a sudden today it has corrupted and keeps throwing up an error message "Can't find project or library". I have tried opening the VBA window and checking tools/references but when I click references nothing happens. The VBA window isn't working properly either, the modules aren't opening, only outline windows and can't do anything with them.

if I try and click macros I just get a "excel has stopped working" error message and have to restart

any ideas?

You need to readd the references you had the previous project. Just go to Tools menu and select References. Check the necessary references needed on your project.

Thanks but I can't open the references, when I go into the VBA window and tools menu and click references, nothing happens. It works on other spreadsheets but not the one in question?
