How long will Excel support VBA?

    Hello,

during a company meeting, the question came up how long Excel will still support VBA macros. Can you point me to Microsoft's strategy on this matter? I could only find statements which are a few years old on this topic.

    Thank you very much!

Nobody knows except Microsoft insiders. You should ask them directly on the MS forums.

Bit of a long read but interesting none the less

VBA will not disappear. but most likely will become redundant when more and more companies move to an Online Office model only (no more local installation)
VBA does not work on online.

Any company relying on VBA a lot should be aware of that and take that into consideration when making strategic choices about what software licenses to buy.

Excel 4.0 macros also technicly can still function, they are just not officially supported, if it breaks, you are out of luck..
