Excel vlookup not matching due to format

    Hi,
I have a file , i used previously to match the sheets sheet 1 and 2 with v lookup and update the amount/ref.. but now the format or substring are different..
if for eg: Dues and subscription, in another it is there like Dues & subscription..
Travel Expense in one and another it is travel..
How to match this and derive answer.. alternative for vlookup, in a macro solution can anybody help..
In the same way i export this sheet to another workbooks, i have a export macro for that.. In that sheets are exported, but i dont want unwanted rows, for eg:
in sheet 1 when it is exported , i need till row 8 in sheet 1 exported and not the whole sheet... used range only uniform for all column..
IN this sample uniform used range is till row 8..
can anybody modify the export macro too..

It would work best if you had something in common (and Exactly the same) in BOTH sheets. Perhaps the account number would work better in this situation rather than the account description. It's worth the extra effort to having 'good linking' - like you would in a database.

This is the code, i used.. but i want to use v lookup for first 3 to 4 characters for the match.. as other file has no absolute match.. I need to modify the macro code for the above file matches..
