Moving data from one column into two columns based on original data set

    Hi all
Wondering if someone has time to solve this problem for me.
I have to categories, CORE and ELECTIVE both showing in Column A.
Codes appear first, and descriptions appear directly below the code.
I would like to have it automated to Move the Code into Column C and Description into Column D.
The words CORE and ELECTIVE do not need to be moved, they can be deleted however the Unit Codes and Descriptions must remain in the same order as per column A. File is attached as an example.
    many thanks in anticipation.

    @ jindon...
Thanks for the lesson...A compliment by the way...
After your last criticism, I have decided to make an effort to study YOUR CODE and try an implement it to assist other start up members...

How would we ever know of other simplistic solutions if it was not for Members such as yourself...This is after all a teaching platform...
You always maintain that WE copy code...Yes, I am sure that all members at some or other time made use of another members code as not all members studied Excel...
The code has always been there...Unless One is A Microsoft Developer...
It is the Coder who manipulates it and uses it as efficiently as possible...And you EXCEL at doing that...

So thank you for your valuable contribution...

Re: Moving data from one column into two columns based on original data set

Understanding how it works and worked when I changed a bit, but really don't know why, are totally different story.

I don't post a code as a SOLUTION, when I don't know why it worked and I will be trying to understand the reason why it worked.
Otherwise I may be end up with confusing people.

It doesn't matter how much you know about Excel/VBA, don't touch it when you are not certain.

By the way, you don't need to study my code, there are lots of better codes everywhere.
Every coder has their own coding style, so don't waste your time studying my codes.

I tried this one but it mixed the Core units and descriptions backwards, however the Elective units and descriptions were ok.
I also tried Jindon's outcome and that worked. So thank you for your attempt, problem is now solved.
All users on here are extremely helpful. Thanks again - Chris
